A rather unique audio compression format, WavPack is not only a lossless compression format, it can also be used as a lossy compression format. In its unique“Hybrid” mode, wavPack can be compressed into a combination of a WV file (a lossy compression format, typically around 23% the size of a WAV file) and a WVC file (a modified file, typically around 41% the size of a WAV file) . With the corresponding WVC file, the lossy compression format of the WV file becomes a lossless format, playback and ordinary lossless compression format exactly the same. If you want to reduce the file size, you can remove the WVC file, then the WV file becomes a lossy format, and the playback effect and high-bit MP3 exactly the same. Accordingly, WavPack includes both lossless and lossy formats. The WavPack frontend frontend application makes it easy to use the WavPack format. WavPack is one of the main lossless compression formats, and its coding speed and algorithm are better than APE.
Through the WavPackFrontend frontend program, we can easily use the WavPack format.
